Gotta love growing up with the Mickey mouse club and the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights ( I think I'm showing my age here) .
I don't care how old you are or young ...this place is pure magic and fun. As soon as you step in, you are in another world, streets lined up to look like movies from Pollyanna, and all those goodies we grew up on. Shops filled with so many souvenirs of everything you can imagine...little girls running around in their princess dresses they just bought, old and young females walking around with Tiaras or Minnie mouse ears..... Buzz lightyear lasers going off, little boys with pirate swords and the list goes on....and the one thing we all have in common is everyone has a smile on their faces.....how could you not its DISNEYLAND!!!
We started thinking about having a train trip around the whole place to get our bearings but it was a 20 minute wait so we thought it would be better to have some lunch and get started as we didn't get here as early as planned. Once that was out of the way we headed off to our first part....Katie and I stopped to marvel in the gift shop in the middle of the beautiful castle. Being the bower birds that we are whenever we see anything glittery and sparkly!! Katie saw some wine glasses to buy a bit later...underneath in the dungeons was a sleeping dragon that moved when disturbed.....was great ...pity he didn't breathe fire would have made the picture more awesome!!
We then met Jason and Evan at the maze for Alice in Wonderland.....they kept a watch on us from the top, but they didn't help us get there...sods!!
Next up on the list was the some kiddy rides...more my speed!! One was the Casey Jnr train roller coaster in which I embarrassed Jason by screaming and putting my hands up...Katie joined in too!! When it finished I was ready to go again....The other one was a boat ride through a small version of its a small world but with all the cartoons Disney has done.
Small world was next .....so cute. Buzz light year laser was next...Evan being the smart arse that he is beat everyone......getting over a 1 million and way down in score was Jason, followed by Katie and then me....pitiful really!!
Then to top off my tummy...we went on Space Mountain roller coaster. Last time I went on this I threw up...my tummy was turning before we were getting on. But I survived and Jason and Katie did really well, in fact Jason said it was his favorite ride.
Katie and I then went shopping. And the Boys headed off to a 3D Star Wars thingy....but it wasn't as good as they had thought it would be. We met up again at Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a water one and was quite good....next was Indiana Jones roller coaster but I piked out...there was a loop and didn't think my stomach could handle it....But the others loved it.
Onwards to the tree house. They loved it ...during this time I headed off to the shops on main street...well that didn't go to plan as they cut off Fantasyland and I could'nt cut through so had to go all the way back and start again...only to be thoroughly disappointed that there was nothing for me to buy to wear....last time here I fitted in to things, losing all that weight and the sizes are smaller...Katie however did get a jacket that I thought she would get.....Before they got there they had a special bit of lighting the big Christmas tree up and then it snowed in main street!! (not real snow but still magical)
Met up with all not long after and we stayed for the finale. Music, lights, water and fireworks on Sleeping Beauty's castle. So cool. The only thing that marred the experience was the lady in front of us who stood on her pram to get a better view and blocking ours ...especially Katie's.....As she is so much shorter than us!! LOL
We left to get the train back and went to Moulin Rouge so Katie could see it and though we would just have a burger at Quick!!
